MouseTester is provided free of charge, as-is, with no warranty of any kind. The tests read standard browser input events and are honest to that layer: they show what your computer received, not a certified hardware diagnosis. Results should inform - not replace - professional diagnostics, warranty claims and purchase decisions.

Your data. The tools run locally; personal best scores stay in your browser's local storage and are never transmitted. Clearing site data removes them. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Your technique, your hardware. Clicking techniques - butterfly, drag, jitter - stress switches beyond their rated patterns; that is your call and your mouse's life. Nothing on this site encourages warranty abuse: a flagged double click test result supports a legitimate claim, it does not manufacture one.

Accuracy and corrections. Guides express earned opinion, not engineering certification for your specific device. Measurements beat claims: if reality disagrees with a guide, send the numbers and the guide gets corrected. Claims found materially wrong are fixed with a dated note rather than silently rewritten.

Ownership. The site's name, layout, tools and original illustrations belong to MouseTester. Linking is welcome; republishing substantial content requires permission. Tool names and brands mentioned in guides belong to their owners and their mention is descriptive, not an endorsement.
